Pillow Thought // Journey to Yourself

Do I actually love myself? Like in a similar way I do others?

I found that I never questioned this of myself until I was traveling solo, after having felt uncomfortable, homesick, challenged physically and mentally and making my way through. Through the journey and with growth. And I found that I hardly give myself the credit and love that I hardly hesitate to give and praise to those I love.

Why is that? Am I preventing an overblown ego? Is it to be humble? Is it a lack of confidence? Whatever it is, it can come to a point where you forget yourself, maybe even lose yourself, amidst everything and everyone around you.

Think about it. And remember that it starts with you. That the love you’re able to give starts with the love you’re able to give and receive yourself. Of course humbly, but fully. No apologies. Genuine, heartfelt, unconditional love.

Lean into yourself, your strengths, your weaknesses, your scars. Discover the resilience, perseverance, raw beauty there is within you. And let your light shine, so you can help others do the same.
