"If not me, who? If not now, when?"

I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and it was exciting to hear about Emma Watson's HeForShe speech at the UN. I'm a little late, but finally got around to watching it. It's amazing to see grown up Hermione Granger, a successful, educated, and ambitious young woman making & inspiring change in the world. Here are a few of my favorite moments on the topic of gender equality:

"Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. If we stop defining each other by what we are not, and start defining ourselves as who we are, we can all be freer."  [At the core, we are all the same, and it's time that we all start treating one another that way, encouraging one another to be the individuals that we are meant to be rather than the expectations society has for us.]

"Statesman Edmund Burke said, all that is needed for the forces of evil to triumph, is for good men and women to do nothing."

"...If not me, who? If not now, when? If you have similar doubts when opportunities are presented to you, I hope that those words will be helpful."

You go Emma, and you go world.
