Make Your Word Impeccable

That's how my yoga instructor started class this morning. It seemed like a pretty general statement, so what did it really mean?

It means standing by your word and seamlessly making your word a reflection of your character. So she challenged us to ask ourselves...

Is what I'm going to say true?

Is it kind?

Is it necessary?

And is it the right timing?

And if we answered no to any of those questions, perhaps it was worth a pause to rethink our word. As Gandhi once said, "speak only if it improves upon the silence."
